Inventory

What it does

One row per item with its unit, cost and reorder point, one row per location, and one row per movement: a receipt, a sale, a transfer or a count, each with a quantity and a day. Stock on hand at each location is the sum of the movements, never a typed number, and days of cover is on hand divided by the last thirty days of sales, so a reorder is visible before it is urgent. Units sold and received are metrics from the first movement, so an operations goal can be held to them.

What it adds

• Adds items and locations and stock movements to the Operations department
• Active items: How many items are stocked and not discontinued.
• Units sold, 30 days: The sum of the quantity on sale movements in the last thirty days.
• Units received, 30 days: The sum of the quantity on receipt movements in the last thirty days.
• Movements, 30 days: How many stock movements were recorded in the last thirty days.
• An app summary on the company overview
• Agents can read and update records with the required permissions

What installing grants

You see this list again on the install screen, and nothing happens until you approve it there.

1. Create the Items tableOne row per stock-keeping unit. Discontinued rows stay; they are the record.
